In a bid to enhance road safety during the foggy winter months, the Gautam Buddha Nagar Traffic Police have announced a reduction in speed limits on major roads and expressways across the district. This advisory will be in effect from December 15 to February 15, 2026.

The revised rules cap maximum speeds on the Yamuna Expressway at 75 kmph for light vehicles and 60 kmph for heavy ones. Similarly, the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway will enforce limits of 75 kmph for light and 50 kmph for heavy vehicles. The changes represent a significant reduction from the usual 100 kmph for light vehicles and 80 kmph for heavy vehicles.

Meanwhile, two separate fog-related accidents were reported on the Eastern Peripheral Expressway. Despite the collisions involving multiple vehicles, no casualties occurred, and traffic continues to flow normally. Authorities urge drivers to adhere to the new speed limits for their safety.
