A fatal accident on the Yamuna Expressway claimed 13 lives and left 35 injured when multiple vehicles collided in thick fog, early Tuesday morning. The incident sparked a large fire, worsening the already tragic scene, officials reported.

The collisions occurred on the Agra-to-Noida side of the expressway under the jurisdiction of Baldev Police Station. Several vehicles caught fire. Local authorities, including SSP Shlok Kumar, confirmed that all injured were taken to regional hospitals for treatment.

Two of the deceased were identified, and a rescue operation involving cranes was conducted to clear the highway. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath offered condolences and announced compensation for the victims' families. Incidents in Haryana due to similar foggy conditions were also reported.
