Walmart-owned Flipkart on Thursday announced the appointment of Jane Duke as its new Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer. The strategic move is designed to fortify governance and is aligned with the e-commerce giant's upcoming IPO efforts. Duke will report directly to Chris Cyrenne, Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer at Walmart International.

As a highly experienced professional in ethics and compliance, Duke's past roles include Vice President at Tyson Foods and over a decade at the US Attorney's Office. Her leadership is expected to strengthen Flipkart's commitment to ethical business practices and transparency, Critical as the company scales up.

In addition to Duke's appointment, Flipkart is also advancing its path to becoming an Indian-domiciled company. The National Company Law Tribunal has approved a merger involving eight Singapore-incorporated entities, a step that experts say could make the company more appealing to Indian investors ahead of its IPO.
