Chhattisgarh has reported impressive growth in its mineral revenue, approaching a target of Rs 17,000 crore by the end of the 2025-26 fiscal year. This success marks a significant increase from the Rs 429 crore recorded in 2000, attributed to systematic exploration and effective mining policies.
State Mineral Resource Secretary P Dayanand highlighted the state's pivotal role in the country's mineral sector, contributing around 17% to India's total mineral production. To support the Prime Minister Khanij Kalyan Kshetra Yojana, the District Mineral Foundation Trust Rules have been updated to improve mining-affected areas.
Further, Chhattisgarh has emerged as a leader by auctioning lithium blocks, boosting local employment and strategic mineral exploration. The state government continues to partner with exploration agencies and prepares mineral blocks for auction, marking a transformative phase in mineral resource management.
