IndiGo has disbursed Rs 22.68 crore to compensate passengers affected by extensive flight disruptions in December. The civil aviation ministry's report to the Rajya Sabha indicated that a total of over Rs 24 crore was spent by domestic airlines for passenger compensation.

This includes cases of denied boarding, flight cancellations, and delays. IndiGo emerged as the leading compensator, with Air India Group and others contributing lesser amounts.

The disruptions led to a 10% reduction in IndiGo's winter schedule by the DGCA, affecting over 300,000 passengers nationwide between December 3 and 5.
