Railway Expansion Spurs Economic Growth and Connectivity

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, led by PM Narendra Modi, approves railway projects worth Rs 18,509 crore to boost India's connectivity. The planned third and fourth rail lines between key regions aim to enhance mobility, operational efficiency, and service reliability, supporting economic growth and environmental benefits.

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has sanctioned an ambitious railway expansion plan costing approximately Rs 18,509 crore. These projects focus on constructing third and fourth rail lines between Kasara-Manmad, Delhi-Ambala, and Ballari-Hosapete.

This move is expected to significantly boost operational efficiency and service reliability for Indian Railways, while aligning with Modi's vision of a self-reliant New India by fostering regional development and increasing employment opportunities.

Additionally, the projects are part of the PM-Gati Shakti National Master Plan, aimed at enhancing multi-modal connectivity and logistics efficiency. By extending the railway network by 389 kilometers and improving connectivity to key tourist destinations, it promises substantial commercial and environmental benefits.
