In a strategic move reflective of current challenges, Unitech Ltd's board has extended the tenure of CEO Ashok Kumar Yadav for another year. This decision comes amidst a significant financial crunch that has hindered the firm's housing projects in the Delhi-NCR region.
The board of directors at the Gurugram-based realty firm approved this extension during a meeting held last month, as revealed in their latest regulatory filing. Yadav's extended tenure will commence from February 11, 2026, or remain in effect until further order.
Notably, in 2020, Unitech's board was reconstituted following a Supreme Court directive and was implemented by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs. The board now faces the immense task of navigating Unitech through its current fiscal turmoil while attempting to meet project commitments.
