A tractor loaded with bricks collided with a freight train on the Lucknow-Varanasi railway track on Wednesday, officials reported. The incident left the tractor destroyed and damaged the train's engine.
The crash occurred near Sherpur Parashurampur village, under the jurisdiction of Chanda police station, and caused a disruption in train services for over an hour. Officials confirmed the absence of a level crossing at the collision site.
Although the freight train's driver spotted the tractor in advance and reduced speed, a significant collision still ensued. The train was grounded for more than an hour before the track was cleared. Sub-Inspector Avadhesh Singh stated that the tractor was transporting bricks from Koeripur.
