As temperatures start to climb, key players in the room airconditioner market are implementing price hikes ranging from 5% to 15%. This move is in response to continuous inflation in raw material costs and shipping expenses, according to industry insiders.
Major brands such as Daikin, Voltas, Blue Star, and LG are rolling out these increases between February and April, coinciding with the anticipated demand surge during peak summer. Executives noted that the hikes are unavoidable but remain optimistic about sales due to forecasts of a hot summer and enhanced energy savings offered by new star-rated models.
The market, comprising approximately 13.5 million units, is poised for intense competition as manufacturers aim for market share gains following a challenging year in 2025.
