Flight Risk: Passenger Caught Smoking Beedi

A passenger named Ashish allegedly smoked a beedi inside a toilet on a Delhi-Goa flight, posing a safety risk to fellow passengers and crew. He was caught with a lighter and booked under relevant aviation safety laws as police investigate the incident further.

An alarming incident unfolded on an Akasa Air flight from Delhi to Goa when passenger Ashish was found smoking a 'beedi' inside the aircraft's lavatory, officials reported.

The Delhi resident, identified as Ashish, not only smoked the hand-rolled cigarette during the flight on Saturday but also carried a lighter, breaching aviation safety protocols and endangering passengers and crew aboard flight QP-1625.

The airline filed a formal complaint with authorities, leading to the registration of a case under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Suppression of Unlawful Acts against Safety of Civil Aviation Act, as the police continue to investigate.
