Gas Shortage Threatens Industries and Hotels Amid US-Israel-Iran Conflict

Small-scale industries and hotels in Marathwada face a critical gas shortage due to the US-Israel-Iran conflict disrupting global fuel supply chains. Several units are on the brink of closure, impacting multiple sectors including auto parts and hospitality. Industry leaders are exploring alternatives, but uncertainty looms.

Industries and hotels across Marathwada are grappling with a severe gas shortage, exacerbated by the ongoing US-Israel-Iran conflict, which has disrupted global fuel supply chains.

Arjun Gaikwad, president of the Marathwada Association of Small Scale Industries and Agriculture (MASSIA), has reported that several units in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar have already shut down due to insufficient gas supply, with more closures looming.

The Chamber of Marathwada Industries & Agriculture (CMIA) and local hospitality leaders express concerns over the impending crisis, estimating that industries need between 150 to 240 metric tonnes of gas daily to operate effectively. The strained supply chain threatens to affect the region's auto, engineering, and hospitality sectors.
