The Delhi Metro faced a significant disruption on Thursday following the theft of over 500 meters of signalling cables between Deepali Chowk and Majlis Park. The incident affected train speeds on the Magenta Line, as services were regulated to cope with the damage.

The theft, reported between Bhalaswa and Majlis Park stations, forced trains to operate at a restricted speed of 25 kmph. An official noted that repairing signalling cables is not feasible during revenue hours without impacting passenger services.

To minimize inconvenience, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation announced that restoration work will be conducted at night after passenger operations conclude. Passengers were kept informed through regular announcements both at stations and inside trains on the affected route.
