India's Telecom Triumph: Leading the Global 6G Revolution
India is set to lead in defining global 6G standards through the Bharat 6G Alliance, says Union Minister Jyotiraditya M. Scindia. He emphasized India's telecom growth, reduced data costs, and vast 5G coverage, stressing infrastructure investments and indigenous technology development in recent advancements.

Union Minister for Communications Jyotiraditya M. Scindia announced India's pivotal role in shaping global 6G standards via the Bharat 6G Alliance at the International Workshop on 6G Standardisation. The alliance's seven working groups are poised to catapult India's participation in this transformative technology.
Highlighting the aim to bridge the digital divide and unleash new opportunities, Scindia cited impressive advancements in domestic telecom infrastructure. During Question Hour in Lok Sabha, he pointed to a significant reduction in data costs and emphasized India's telecom path under Prime Minister Modi's guidance.
Scindia detailed the exponential rise in Base Transreceiver Stations and near-universal 5G district coverage, attributing these feats to substantial infrastructure investment. He also noted a milestone with BSNL achieving a net profit in the 2024-25 financial year, a first in 18 years, and lauded India's innovation in developing indigenous telecom technology.
