The Madhya Pradesh government reaffirmed its commitment to cow protection by renaming its veterinary department to the 'Gaupalan and Pashupalan Department'. The decision reflects the administration's priority shift and was finalized during a state cabinet meeting led by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav.

In addition to the rebranding initiative, the cabinet sanctioned Rs 4,525 crore for diverse development and maintenance activities under the Public Works Department. This budget aims to enhance public infrastructure across the state, signifying a further push towards comprehensive development.

Further infrastructure projects included in the approvals are the construction of elevated corridors in Ujjain city and the Panwar Micro Irrigation Project in Rewa district, totaling additional allocations of over Rs 1,173.62 crore. These measures align with efforts to support agricultural productivity and urban development.
