Honda's Bold Expansion: A New Era of Motorcycle Production in India

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India announced a significant investment of Rs 1,500 crore to establish a third production line at its Tapukara facility in Rajasthan. This new addition is projected to commence operations by 2028, enhancing the plant's annual production capacity to 2.01 million units.
The expansion will stimulate local employment opportunities, generating more than 2,000 jobs, and marks a strategic move by HMSI to adapt to evolving market demands and mobility transformations in India. HMSI President & CEO Tsutsumu Otani emphasized the importance of this development for the company's future readiness.
With the additional line and expansions at other facilities, including the upcoming fourth line at Vithalapur, HMSI's overall production capacity is expected to rise from 6.25 million to 8 million units annually by FY28. The Tapukara plant's capacity advancements symbolize HMSI's commitment to innovation and efficiency in production.
