In a significant move aimed at transforming India's power sector, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has extended an invitation to global investors, encouraging them to invest, innovate, and scale with India's burgeoning energy industry. The remarks, delivered at the Bharat Electricity Summit 2026, underscore India's strategic position as the world's fastest-growing major economy.
Modi's message, read out by Union Power Secretary Pankaj Agarwal, emphasized the strategic importance of the summit as a platform to foster international collaboration and innovation in the energy sector. The Prime Minister highlighted India's renewable energy advancements, with over 50% non-fossil fuel capacity achieved, and a target of 500 gigawatts by 2030.
