Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has called for urgent action to tackle the impact of unseasonal rains that have caused significant crop damage and threaten essential supply chains across the state.

During a video conference with district collectors and senior officials, the chief minister reviewed the effects of adverse weather, which included heavy winds and hailstorms in multiple districts. Reports indicate that key crops like maize, paddy, and black gram suffered damage across 42 mandals, while horticulture products faced losses in nine districts. Together, these damages amount to an estimated Rs 63 crore.

Chief Minister Naidu also highlighted the importance of strengthening the LPG supply network to avoid future shortages and reduce dependency on conventional fuels. He proposed considering alternatives such as induction stoves and Piped Natural Gas (PNG), particularly considering potential disruptions in global supply due to geopolitical tensions in the Middle East. Priority for fuel supply should focus on rural, tribal, and education-based facilities.
