The hike significantly affects airlines' operational budgets, which already contend with turmoil in West Asia. With ATF representing 40% of operational costs, airlines foresee increased ticket prices.

Indian carriers are particularly challenged by longer flight routes due to regional airspace curbs. Airlines like Air India and IndiGo are likely to continue implementing fuel surcharges. IATA confirms fare hikes amid tight capacity and slim margins, as the conflict's duration remains uncertain.
