Maharashtra govt transfers 41 cops, including 7 IG-rank officers

The Maharashtra government transferred 41 police officers, including seven special inspectors-general, in a major reshuffle of senior police personnel across the state.

The Maharashtra government on Thursday transferred 41 police officers, including seven of the rank of special inspector-general.

Among those transferred are special IG Pravin Padwal, who was shifted from Nashik to VIP Security. Other IG-rank officers transferred comprise Sharda Raut, Sanjay Yenpure, Ramnath Pokale, Sandip Patil, Punjabrao Ugale and Mahesh Patil.

As per the order issued by the state home department, 34 other senior officers, including some belonging to the Indian Police Service (IPS), have also been transferred.

They were posted in areas like Thane, Navi Mumbai, Mumbai and Chhatrapati Sambhaijnagar, among others, an official said.
