Andhra Pradesh has marked a milestone in GST collection, recording its highest net collection for the month of March at Rs 3,316 crore, reflecting a 10% growth rate, according to a senior government official.

The state saw an overall GST growth of 6% during the 2025-26 fiscal, despite facing several structural and policy challenges, particularly from the GST 2.0 reforms.

These reforms aimed to streamline the tax system, but also led to revenue challenges due to rate rationalizations, which led to an estimated annual loss of Rs 8,500 crore. The Andhra Pradesh Commercial Taxes Department is leveraging AI and data analytics to enhance its tax administration processes.
