Central Railway is gearing up for the upcoming Nashik-Trimbakeshwar Simhastha Kumbh Mela with a comprehensive crowd management plan, slated for completion by March 31, 2027. During a press conference, CR acting general manager Prateek Goswami outlined the strategic measures being implemented at key railway stations to handle the influx of devotees.

The designated stations include Deolali, Lasalgaon, Nashik Road, Odha, Kasbe Sukane, Kherwadi, Igatpuri, and Sainagar Shirdi. These stations will see holding areas created and advanced systems like CCTV cameras and audio announcements installed to direct passenger flow and ensure efficient train scheduling.

With an estimated budget of Rs 1370 crore for 88 projects, this initiative reflects a coordinated effort with state authorities, aiming to accommodate the massive influx anticipated at the Simhastha Kumbh Mela, which could see attendance numbers rise four to five times compared to the 2015 event.
