India ITME Society Pioneers Textile Trade Links with Indonesia
The India ITME Society successfully conducted its inaugural Textile Engineering Industry Business Delegation in Indonesia, aiming to bolster trade ties between Indian textile machinery manufacturers and the Indonesian textile industry. The four-day event covered key industry hubs and facilitated significant networking and collaboration opportunities.
In a landmark effort to enhance trade relations in the textile sector, the India ITME Society has completed its first Textile Engineering Industry Business Delegation to Indonesia. The initiative was designed to foster dialogue between Indian textile machinery manufacturers and the Indonesian textile industry, establishing a structured platform for cooperation.
The delegation, comprising 18 Indian companies representing various textile machinery sectors, including spinning, weaving, and processing, visited major industrial hubs in Bandung and Jakarta. During this four-day visit from April 12 to 16, 2026, delegates engaged in productive meetings with the Indonesian Ministry of Industry, prominent textile manufacturers, and trade bodies such as IndCham and KADIN.
Key activities included site visits to leading textile firms, participation in the Indo Intertex exhibition, and a business seminar focused on facilitating direct interactions with Indonesian industry leaders. The event, attended by Indian Ambassador to Indonesia Shri Sandeep Chakravorty and other dignitaries, was hailed as a pivotal step towards strengthening India-Indonesia trade relations in the textile sector.
