Maruti Suzuki India, the leader in the car market, announced a record total sale of 2,39,646 units for April, representing a 33.29% increase from last year. This marks a robust beginning to the new fiscal year, driven largely by strong performances in their small car segment.
The company reached an unprecedented domestic sales high of 1,91,122 units in April, surpassing the previous record set in December 2025. Senior Executive Officer, Partho Banerjee, emphasized the significant contribution of small cars to this growth trajectory.
Despite potential challenges such as rising petrol prices, the demand remains strong. Small car sales, including models like Alto and S-Presso, nearly tripled. Meanwhile, the compact and SUV segments also experienced notable growth, underscoring Maruti Suzuki's strong market position.
