Ramkrishna Forgings is on the verge of launching commercial operations at its new Chennai facility this June, marking its entry into the forged wheel manufacturing industry. This strategic expansion comes following a Letter of Award from the Indian Railways, with an investment of around Rs 2,000 crore.

The Chennai project, developed in collaboration with a private partner where Ramkrishna holds a majority stake, is set to be Asia's second-largest wheel manufacturing unit, boasting an annual capacity of 2,28,000 forged wheels. The project, executed in two phases, involves substantial financial planning, integrating both debt and equity.

Looking ahead, Naresh Jalan, Managing Director of Ramkrishna Forgings, forecasts a promising FY27. The company secured new orders worth Rs 594 crore in the last quarter of FY26 and holds a significant order book of Rs 9,635 crore. Jalan attributes their optimistic outlook to strong revenue visibility, improved demand, and strategic operations.
