India Must Pivot to Renewables: Mittal's Vision for Economic Resilience

Speaking at the CII Annual Business Summit, Sunil Bharti Mittal, Chairman of Bharti Enterprises, addressed the pressing issue of the ongoing Middle East crisis, urging the industry to heed Prime Minister Narendra Modi's call to reduce energy costs and minimize gold imports.

Mittal stressed the importance of investing more within India and transitioning to renewable energy, despite the global economic pressures. He acknowledged India's robust growth but cautioned that current global challenges require proactive measures by the industry.

He further highlighted Airtel's significant investments as an example of commitment to India's economic progress. Mittal, honored with the CII President's Award for Lifetime Achievement, called on colleagues to provide locally made products and services to support the country's young population.
