In a virtual ceremony, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw inaugurated the Dohrighat-Aunrihar passenger train from Rail Bhawan, New Delhi, promising an extension to Varanasi soon. The move aims to improve rail connectivity and passenger convenience in Purvanchal, Uttar Pradesh.

The initiative responds to a significant demand for direct daily train routes among residents of Mau and Ghazipur. The train will stop at several stations including Sadat, Jakhanian, Dullahapur, Mau, Indara, Kopaganj, Ghosi, Amila, and Muradpur, featuring an 8-coach rake designed for passenger comfort.

Vaishnaw emphasized the benefits of extending the service to Varanasi, a cultural and commercial hub, which could assist daily commuters, students, traders, and pilgrims. The train is expected to bolster tourism, local trade, education, and employment while honoring local cultural ties.
