Since April 22, the Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority (UCADA) has facilitated the Char Dham Yatra for over 21,000 pilgrims using helicopter services, leveraging an advanced monitoring system, officials reported on Tuesday.

With 17,976 utilizing shuttles from locations like Phata, Guptkashi, and Sirsi, and 3,974 completing the journey via chartered flights by May 10, the effort was substantial. The Integrated Command and Control and Communication Centre (ICCCC) at Sahastradhara heliport ensured safe operations despite adverse weather.

The six-member team, including officials from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, India Meteorological Department, and UCADA, coordinated closely with Air Traffic Control to maintain safe pilgrimages. The ICCCC's real-time monitoring and high-definition cameras secured heli-routes, enabling prompt action in emergencies.
