In a significant policy move, the Centre announced a hike in the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for 14 Kharif crops, including substantial increases for pulses, oilseeds, and cotton. The decision has been lauded by BJP national general secretary Tarun Chugh, who emphasized the benefits for Punjab's farming community.
Chugh commended the new MSP rates, particularly for paddy and cotton, stating they will greatly benefit farmers in the region. He accused the AAP government of neglecting farmers and praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi's administration for delivering consistent support at the ground level.
According to Chugh, a BJP-led government would enhance agricultural infrastructure, ensure direct procurement at MSP reaches every village, and restore dignity and prosperity to Punjab’s farmers. He urged the public to reject deceitful politics and support the BJP for a brighter future for farmers, referencing success in Haryana as an example.
