The United States is expected to send a delegation to India next month to engage in trade talks, as confirmed by India's Commerce Secretary Rajesh Agrawal on Friday. Although specific dates are still pending, the visit is an anticipation of advancing the ongoing negotiations about the broader bilateral trade agreement (BTA).

Agrawal noted that India had earlier visited Washington, DC, in April to move forward with meeting the details needed for an interim pact. The discussions intend to formalize a mutually beneficial bilateral trade agreement framework, further strengthening ties between the two nations.

Meanwhile, trade statistics reveal a slight increase of 0.92% in India's exports to the United States, reaching USD 87.3 billion. At the same time, imports from the US saw a 15.95% growth to USD 52.9 billion, reducing the trade surplus to USD 34.4 billion from the previous USD 40.89 billion.
