On Friday, the Trinamool Congress launched a vigorous critique against the current governing body led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, primarily concerning the latest fuel price hikes. The TMC accused the central government of misleading the public by camouflaging the dire state of the economy before elections, only to reveal it afterwards through burdensome measures.
Sagarika Ghose, the TMC's Deputy Leader in the Rajya Sabha, labeled the government as a 'betrayer', citing their failure to manage fuel shortages effectively and continuous focus on superficial 'event management' strategies, which led to adverse impacts on everyday citizens. She remarked on the burst of Modi's economic policies, elevated cooking gas costs, and foreign investors exiting the market.
The TMC's tirade extended beyond economic concerns to educational scandals, questioning the credibility and transparency of the National Testing Agency following several alleged exam paper leaks. Furthermore, TMC leader Mamata Banerjee took legal steps against post-election violence in West Bengal, while the party set up investigative teams to examine alleged BJP electoral misconduct, further promising nationwide protests alongside the opposition INDIA bloc.
