Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai addressed public concerns regarding fuel availability on Friday, ensuring ample stocks of petrol, diesel, and cooking gas in the state. Amid reports of rushed purchases at petrol pumps, Sai emphasized the global impact of the West Asia conflict while urging residents not to panic.
Responding to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's call for prudent use of essential resources, the chief minister called on citizens to reduce unnecessary petrol and diesel use and to refrain from panic buying. He reassured the public about the sufficiency of reserves and ongoing supplies, urging people to remain calm and responsible.
In Gariaband district, temporary restrictions on petrol and diesel sales were implemented to curb hoarding. According to the district's order, limits on fuel purchases were imposed, prioritizing essential services. This measure aims to ensure equitable distribution amid panic buying due to fuel shortage rumours.
