In Meerut, a commission agent's license has been suspended after a video revealed vegetables being stored in a defunct toilet at the Mawana Naveen Sabzi Mandi. The market committee swiftly intervened following the video's circulation.

Mandi Secretary Arjun Singh clarified that the toilet was out of service, and Abhay Kumar of Pradhan Trading Company stored vegetables without permission. An investigation ensued after the discovery on May 15, with a substantial quantity of vegetables seized and destroyed.

Authorities demanded explanations from the Mandi committee, with additional scrutiny promised to prevent future misuse of market facilities. Legal actions are anticipated once the inquiry concludes, as stressed by SDM Santosh Kumar Singh.
