Tragic Bus Overturn in Bastar: One Dead, Many Injured

A woman was killed and over 20 people injured when a bus overturned in Bastar, Chhattisgarh, on Monday. The bus was en route from Raipur to Sukma when the driver allegedly fell asleep, leading to the accident. Rescue operations and investigations are underway as the injured receive treatment.

A tragic accident occurred on a highway in Chhattisgarh’s Bastar district when a private bus overturned early Monday morning. The bus, carrying over 35 passengers from Raipur to Sukma, lost control, reportedly after the driver fell asleep.

The accident took place on National Highway-30 within the Bastar police station limits. Among the casualties, a woman named Padmani Chandravanshi, a teacher from Kawardha, perished at the scene. More than 20 others sustained injuries and were promptly taken to local hospitals.

Local residents and police swiftly responded, rescuing those trapped inside the bus. Authorities have registered a case, and an investigation is currently underway to determine the cause of this fatal incident.
