WHO urges ongoing monitoring of hantavirus after new case

​The World ​Health ‌Organization chief on Friday ​urged countries to continue ‌monitoring passengers of a cruise ship for hantavirus after a further ‌case was detected among a ‌Dutch crew member.

"We continue to urge affected countries to monitor ⁠all passengers ​and ⁠move carefully for the remainder of ⁠the quarantine period," WHO Director-General Tedros ​Adhanom Ghebreyesus told a press conference ⁠in Geneva.

He said that a ⁠Dutch ​crew member had tested positive and was now ⁠in isolation, bringing the total case ⁠number ⁠to 12.
