WHO urges ongoing monitoring of hantavirus after new case
The World Health Organization chief on Friday urged countries to continue monitoring passengers of a cruise ship for hantavirus after a further case was detected among a Dutch crew member.
"We continue to urge affected countries to monitor all passengers and move carefully for the remainder of the quarantine period," WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus told a press conference in Geneva.
He said that a Dutch crew member had tested positive and was now in isolation, bringing the total case number to 12.
