RSM US India plans to expand its office space in India as the consultancy firm is bullish on the country in terms of market as well as talent potential, according to a senior executive.

Currently, RSM US India, part of global consultancy firm RSM Global, has offices in four Indian cities -- Gurugram, Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Kolkata. It has around 4 lakh square feet of office space in the four cities and employs about 3,800 people.

Ashokkumar Prabhakar (Pash), RSM US India Leader and a member of the firm's Executive Leadership Team, said India is central to its global strategy because of scale, talent, innovation and client impact.

''I think India is moving from scale to strategic relevance in shaping how we serve our clients globally... I think the prospects in India are huge, both from a market perspective as well as from a talent perspective,'' Prabhakar told PTI.

He said the firm would be adding more office space this year and mentioned that there was a lot of talent available in these four cities.

RSM US India is mainly into four areas -- assurance, tax, consulting and shared services. It does not directly deal with Indian clients.

The entity is more like a GCC (Global Capability Centre).

''That is the closest that we would like to associate ourselves with, because we are actually GCC plus in some sense. GCCs primarily provide cost arbitrage, labour arbitrage in some sense, but we are mostly focusing on client area outcomes in that sense,'' Prabhakar said.
