Renovation efforts on a crucial railway bridge in the Kathua–Madhopur corridor are nearing completion. This development will enable the resumption of full train services connecting Jammu and Kashmir with the rest of India by the end of May, according to railway officials.

The bridge, heavily damaged by flash floods in September last year, necessitated the extant repair and strengthening, leaving only a single Up-line operational for weeks. Officials have announced that interlocking work will be finalized by May 31, reopening both tracks and enhancing operational efficiency.

Despite numerous technical hurdles, railway engineers have tirelessly worked to restore the bridge. With its reopening, suspended and rerouted services will return by June, benefitting passengers and improving freight train movement crucial to commercial and defense logistics.

The reopening is anticipated to bring substantial relief to passengers traveling to destinations such as Jammu and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra. The railways expressed appreciation for passenger patience during the repairs and advised checking the latest travel updates via official channels.
