Jupiter Signs Decade-Long Deal with European Rail Giant Tatravagonka
Jupiter Tatravagonka Railwheel Factory has inked a 10-year supply agreement with Tatravagonka a.s., a prominent European wagon maker. The deal involves rail wheels, axles, and wheelsets, marking a significant step for India's rail exports.
Jupiter Tatravagonka Railwheel Factory has announced a significant deal with Tatravagonka a.s., a major player in the European wagon industry, to supply rail wheels, axles, and wheelsets. This agreement will span a decade, with production anticipated to begin by late 2027.
The European manufacturer uses between 20,000 and 30,000 wheelsets each year. As per Vivek Lohia, Managing Director of Jupiter Wagons, this collaboration heralds a milestone for Indian rail manufacturing, transforming the nation from a wheelset importer to a global exporter. The Odisha-based facility, with an investment of Rs 3,000 crore, is designed to produce 100,000 wheelsets annually, catering to both domestic and international needs.
