India to Implement Duty Concessions for Omani Imports from June 1st
From June 1, India will apply duty concessions to Omani imports under their recent trade agreement, facilitating tariff changes for products from Oman under specific conditions. This follows a CEPA signed last December aimed at strengthening economic ties between the two nations.

Duty concessions on imports from Oman under the trade agreement with India will be implemented starting June 1, following a notification issued by the finance ministry. This measure aims to bolster economic collaboration under the India-Oman Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), inked last December.
According to the notification, the exemptions will apply only if importers can substantiate the origin of goods as Omani. India has committed to reducing tariffs on 77.79 percent of its total tariff lines, accounting for over 94 percent of imports from Oman in value terms. Key Omani export interests, including dates, marbles, and petrochemicals, are primarily subject to a tariff-rate quota regime for concessionary liberalization.
