Kamali Moorthy, a talented teenager from Tamil Nadu, claimed dual victories at the Indian Open Surfing finals, winning both the Women's Open and the Surfing Juniors U-18 Girls categories. Her success strengthens her position in securing India's surfing quota for the upcoming Asian Games.
The prestigious championship, part of the national surfing calendar, plays a vital role in selecting India's team for the Asian Games in Japan. Additionally, Kishore Kumar captured the Men's Open title, while local athlete Pradeep Pujar won the Surfing Juniors U-18 Boys event for Karnataka. Harish P and Dhamayanthi Sriram excelled in the new U-14 Boys and Girls categories respectively. Kamali outperformed her rivals to secure the Women's Open title with a 13.17 score, continuing her dominance in the sport.
