Singapore Airlines has initiated negotiations with aerospace giants Airbus and Boeing to acquire a substantial fleet of at least 50 large jets, according to industry insiders.
The airline is evaluating options between Boeing's 400-seat 777X, the biggest current model, and Airbus's slightly smaller A350-1000 as it prepares for anticipated growth in the next decade. Early discussions may include possible options for purchasing additional aircraft.
Both Airbus and Boeing refrained from commenting on the matter, and Singapore Airlines has not yet provided a statement.
