Bitcoin's Rocky Road: Kendrick's $100k Prediction Endures

Despite a turbulent week in the cryptocurrency market, Geoffrey Kendrick, Standard Chartered's global head of digital assets research, remains optimistic about Bitcoin's future. He maintains his prediction that the digital currency will hit the $100,000 mark by the end of the year.

The cryptocurrency experienced a significant tumble, falling over 15% after Michael Saylor's Strategy sold some of its Bitcoin holdings for the first time since 2022. This was seen as a 'painful' move by Kendrick, adding to Bitcoin's 30% loss this year, underperforming compared to the S&P 500 index's 10.4% rise.

Despite these challenges, Kendrick views the current market as a strategic 'buying zone,' predicting that by 2026 Bitcoin will achieve the anticipated value of $100,000. Strategy has indicated a potential aggressive buyback of its Bitcoin, reflecting continued faith in the currency's long-term potential.
