Kendrick's Conviction: Bitcoin's $100,000 Prospect Amidst Volatility

Geoffrey Kendrick, renowned global head of digital assets research at Standard Chartered, reaffirmed his bullish outlook on bitcoin, projecting the digital currency to reach $100,000 by the year's end despite its recent downturn. He highlighted the possibility that the majority of sell-offs may have concluded.

The largest cryptocurrency recently witnessed a steep decline of over 12%, attributed to the significant sale by Strategy, the largest corporate holder of bitcoin. This marked the first sale since 2022, prompting Kendrick to describe the week as 'painful' for the crypto market. He cautioned that bitcoin could face more selling pressure if prices dip below $60,000.

Despite the volatility, Kendrick remains optimistic, viewing the current prices as an ideal buying zone. With bitcoin recently trading at $64,320, its value has decreased by 27% this year, contrasting with a 10.4% increase in the S&P 500. Significant outflows from bitcoin ETFs highlight investor trepidation, yet Kendrick anticipates a future rally.
