Kauvery Hospital, located in Salem, Tamil Nadu, has made significant strides in public health preparedness by organizing a comprehensive Basic Life Support (BLS) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training session at Salem Railway Station. This program, conducted in collaboration with the railway administration, engaged over 100 railway employees and citizens, enhancing their emergency response capabilities.

The AED is an invaluable tool during sudden cardiac arrest, analyzing heart rhythms and delivering shocks to restore function and improve survival rates. As part of its dedication to community health and safety, Kauvery Hospital previously donated four AED units to the railway station to bolster its emergency medical infrastructure. The session was graced by the presence of Dr. Sivakumar, Chief Medical Officer of Southern Railway, and leading railway officials, emphasizing the commitment to preparedness.

Senior emergency physicians from Kauvery provided rigorous hands-on training on BLS, CPR, and AED operation through live demonstrations and interactive sessions. Participants learned to identify emergencies promptly and administer crucial initial care. Dr. Mubeena Anjum from Kauvery Hospital underscored the vital role of immediate intervention in cardiac emergencies, advocating for empowering frontline personnel in bustling areas like railway stations to save lives.
