Russia's Plan for Fuel Stability Amid Shortages
Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak has called for a forecasting system to tackle fuel distribution challenges and ensure domestic demand is met. This initiative comes in response to reported fuel shortages in Russian regions, exacerbated by Ukraine's attacks on energy infrastructure.
In a proactive move to stabilize domestic fuel markets, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak has advocated for the development of a comprehensive forecasting system. The proposal comes amid ongoing fuel distribution challenges that have sparked concern across several regions.
According to a statement from the Russian government, Novak emphasized the necessity of creating a detailed forecast model for the regional fuel market. The aim is to identify potential bottlenecks and enable the timely implementation of preventive measures.
The call to action was made during a cabinet meeting, as fuel shortages were reported in Crimea and other Russian territories. These shortages have been attributed in part to Ukraine's strategic targeting of Russian refineries and pipelines, a move aimed at disrupting Moscow's financial capabilities.
