In a detailed media briefing, the Petroleum Ministry confirmed that there are ample reserves of petrol, diesel, LPG, and natural gas, even as retail outlets face congestion. Joint Secretary Sujata Sharma emphasized that the government is taking steps to ensure these resources are used wisely.

A recent surge in retail demand has prompted a temporary measure directing industry users to purchase diesel from consumer pumps. This action is intended to safeguard retail availability for ordinary customers and is expected to last for about 90 days.

The ministry reports that LPG supply is stabilizing, with a reduction in booking backlogs, and has ramped up enforcement against illegal gas activities. Meanwhile, measures are in place to maintain the distribution of other crucial petrochemical resources.
