Yes Bank has posted Rs 1,506 crore loss in the fourth quarter ended March 2019. The heavy loss is being attributed to rise in provisioning for bad loans. The bank had recorded a net profit of Rs 1,179.44 crore on a standalone basis during the January-March period of 2017-18.
However, Yes Bank reported in a regulatory filing that other financial aspects are robust, with total income rising to Rs 8,388.38 crore as against Rs 7,163.95 crore in the same quarter of the previous fiscal. Interest income also increased to Rs 7,856.54 crore as compared to Rs 5,742.98 crore earlier.
Yes Bank has recently undergone major leadership reshuffle as Ravneet Gill took charge as the managing director and chief executive.
The bank has also come under RBI scrutiny for various issues like alleged confidentiality norms violation and non-compliance of directions on Swift messaging software.
Reserve Bank of India also slapped a fine of Rs 1 crore on the bank last month for non-compliance of directions on Swift messaging software.
