Merc elevates Santosh Iyer as head of sales & marketing

Luxury car maker Mercedes-Benz India has elevated Santosh Iyer as the sales and marketing head, replacing incumbent Michael Jopp, who will be moving to Malaysia in the same capacity. Iyer, currently the vice-president of customer service and corporate affairs, will assume the charge of the new position from July 1, the company said in a statement Tuesday.

The new A380 will be configured with 471 seats in four classes with six suites, 78 in business class seats on the upper deck, as well as 44 premium economy and 343 economy class seats on the main deck, the airline said Tuesday.

Built with an investment of nearly Rs 1400 crore, the 456-keys property is the company's 14th Luxury Collection in the country, it said in a statement Tuesday. ITC said the composite properties -- ITC Royal Bengal and ITC Sonar-- will be marketed together as one of the largest hospitality and MICE destinations in the region.

Together, the two hotels will offer 693 rooms and 22 meeting venues and a 1,00,000 sqft of banqueting space, ITC chairman and managing director Sanjiv Puri said.
