Guar seed futures rose by Rs 20.5 to Rs 4,265 per 10 quintals on Wednesday as traders widened exposure on positive demand at the spot market. Marketmen said raising of bets by speculators tracking a firm trend at the spot market on thin supplies from growing belts mainly led to rise in prices.

On the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, guar seed contracts for the August delivery strengthened by Rs 20.5, or 0.48 percent, to Rs 4,265 per 10 quintals, with a business turnover of 66,950 lots. Similarly, the delivery for September edged up by Rs 26, or 0.61 percent, to Rs 4,322 per 10 quintals with an open interest of 48,220 lots.
