Students Solar Ambassador Registration for Indian Students

Student Solar Ambassador (SSA) programme driven by Solar Man of India, Professor Chetan Singh Solanki from IIT Bombay has been opened for all Indian students keen to participate in the global event of 2nd October 2019.

Students across the country from schools, colleges and professional institutes can now register themselves for participation on this global event, that will be simultaneously undertaken in 100 plus countries across the world.

As an awareness drive towards the cause of bringing "Energy Swaraj" on the lines of Mahatma Gandhi's epitomized philosophy of "Gram Swaraj," Prof. Chetan Singh Solanki has started Gandhi Global Solar Yatra (GGSY) since December 2018. Indian leg of GGSY, which is currently covering 50 Indian cities was kicked off on 5th July from Mumbai. Globally, GGSY has already travelled to over 30 countries.

As on date, 0.8 Million students have registered to be a part of this mega-global event scheduled to happen on 2nd October 2019. In the SSA Workshop of 2nd October 2019 more than 1-Million Students, the world over will be given hands-on training in solar lamp assembly.

This event will be based on a similar workshop that was conducted in 2018 wherein more than 1.30 lakh students across India participated in it making into Guinness Book of Records. The world is already hotter by nearly 1°C. The world needs to adopt 100% Renewable Energy by 2050, in just 31 years according to the 2018 IPCC Report.

In the SSA Workshop of 2nd October, 2019 more than 1-Million Students will be an event that will globally, kick off a movement towards use of reusable energy.
