Senior Haryana Congress leader Kiran Choudhary on Tuesday took objection to the ''absence'' of senior bureaucrats, who sit in the officers' gallery of the state assembly, saying if they don't note down issues raised by MLAs, how will the government take action on those points.

''During the Zero Hour when MLAs raise issues including pertaining to their constituencies, the officers should be present. If they don't note down the issues which the legislators raise, how will they then take action on these. This means only a formality is being done,'' the Congress legislator claimed.

She further said, ''This is a wastage of time, this is not the way Assembly is run''.

On this, Speaker Gian Chand Gupta pointed to another gallery, telling the Congress member that heads of departments were present in the gallery.

Kiran Choudhary, however, appeared dissatisfied, insisting that all officers must be present.

''These officers do not take us seriously. It just shows how seriously the Assembly is taken by the officers. They are just not bothered,'' she alleged.

The speaker told her, ''Your protest has been registered and I will take notice of this''.
